ScanKeeper App Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Nomadix Apps LLC ("Nomadix Apps", "we", "our", or "us") governing your use of the ScanKeeper mobile application (the "App") and the website at scankeeper.app (the "Site").

These are the single Terms for ScanKeeper regardless of where you obtain the App. The rules of the marketplace through which you download or purchase the App ("Store Terms") also apply. If mandatory Store Terms or applicable law conflict with these Terms, those mandatory rules control to the extent of the conflict.

1. Acceptance and Eligibility

By downloading, installing, purchasing, accessing, or using ScanKeeper, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.

You must be legally capable of entering into this agreement. If you are not, a parent or legal guardian must accept these Terms for you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived, including mandatory consumer rights.

2. Licence to Use ScanKeeper

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on supported devices that you own or control, including any family sharing expressly permitted by the Store Terms.

The App is licensed, not sold. Nomadix Apps and its licensors retain all rights not expressly granted to you. This licence does not transfer ownership of the App, its source code, design, trademarks, or other intellectual property.

3. Licence Restrictions and Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • Use the App or Site for an unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, abusive, or rights-infringing purpose
  • Copy, modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, attempt to derive source code, or create derivative works from the App, except to the limited extent applicable law or an open-source licence expressly permits it
  • Redistribute, sublicense, rent, lease, sell, lend, or make the App available as a hosted or multi-user service, except where the Store Terms expressly permit sharing
  • Circumvent purchase verification, security measures, access controls, feature restrictions, or Store rules
  • Interfere with the App, Site, Stores, or third-party services, or attempt unauthorised access
  • Remove or alter copyright, trademark, licence, or other proprietary notices
  • Use ScanKeeper to infringe intellectual-property, privacy, contractual, access-control, or other rights

4. What ScanKeeper Provides

ScanKeeper lets you scan, create, store, organise, import, display, share, and export barcodes and QR codes. Core use does not require a ScanKeeper account. Some features, such as folders, collection search, widgets, bulk import, or CSV export, may require a Premium entitlement as shown in the App.

Scanning, local storage, and display are designed to work offline. Purchases, purchase restoration, optional iCloud Sync, diagnostics, updates, and Store services may require a network connection or a third-party service.

ScanKeeper is a general-purpose code storage and display tool. It does not verify that a code, ticket, membership, coupon, gift card, payment instrument, URL, or other encoded content is valid, safe, current, transferable, or accepted by a third party.

5. Premium Purchases and Subscriptions

ScanKeeper may offer auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-time Lifetime purchase. The exact product, price, currency, billing period, trial or introductory offer, and included features are displayed before you confirm a purchase.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically for the displayed billing period until cancelled. Your Store charges the payment method associated with your Store account.
  • You can cancel future renewal through the subscription controls provided in the App or by your Store. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Cancellation does not normally create a partial-period refund. Unless the Store Terms or applicable law provide otherwise, access continues until the end of the paid billing period.
  • Lifetime means a one-time purchase for the supported life of the current ScanKeeper product. It does not mean the lifetime of an individual and does not include every future Nomadix Apps product or separately sold service.
  • Purchases are associated with the Store account used for the transaction. Availability on another device or platform depends on the Store, the product configuration, and successful entitlement verification.
  • Refunds and billing disputes are handled under the Store Terms and applicable consumer law. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.

If a Store refunds, reverses, or cannot verify a purchase, the related Premium entitlement may be removed. We will preserve any access or remedy that applicable law or mandatory Store Terms require.

6. Your Codes and Other Content

You retain your rights in barcode values, names, images, folders, and other content you add to ScanKeeper. We do not claim ownership of that content.

Your content normally remains on your device or, if you enable iCloud Sync, in your private iCloud container. You are responsible for:

  • Having the right to scan, create, store, display, share, or export the content
  • Checking important codes against the original source before relying on them
  • Protecting access to your device and cloud account
  • Keeping any backup you need

ScanKeeper is not a secure credential vault, password manager, payment wallet, identity document, or guaranteed backup service. Do not rely on it as the only copy of a code whose loss could cause material harm.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how the App and Site handle information, including on-device storage, optional iCloud Sync, product analytics, diagnostics, purchase entitlement management, and Site request data. By using ScanKeeper, you acknowledge that information will be handled as described there and as permitted by applicable law.

8. Stores and Third-Party Services

ScanKeeper depends on services provided by app marketplaces and service providers such as RevenueCat, TelemetryDeck, Sentry, Cloudflare, and, when enabled, iCloud. A share or export destination is selected by you and is not controlled by us.

Third-party services may change, become unavailable, or apply their own terms and privacy policies. Nomadix Apps is responsible for ScanKeeper support, maintenance, and product claims to the extent required by applicable law and the Store Terms, but is not responsible for a third party's service, content, network, or account decision.

9. Maintenance, Support, Updates, and Availability

Questions and support requests can be sent to info@nomadixapps.org. The Store through which you obtained the App has no obligation to provide maintenance or support unless its Store Terms expressly say otherwise.

We may release updates to fix bugs, improve security, change compatibility, or add, change, or remove features. An update may be required for continued operation, Store compliance, or access to an online feature.

We may stop offering or supporting the App or a feature where reasonably necessary. If this affects a paid entitlement, any refund or continued-access right required by applicable law or the Store Terms remains available. Removing the App from a Store does not erase local content already stored on your device, but reinstalling or restoring purchases may no longer be possible.

10. Warranty Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App and Site are provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults and without warranties of any kind. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, acceptance of a code by a scanner or third party, permanent compatibility with every device, preservation of every item of content, or permanent availability of a Store or third-party service.

If the App fails to conform to a warranty that cannot legally be excluded, you may have remedies under applicable law or the Store Terms. This disclaimer does not exclude statutory guarantees, warranties, or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Product and Intellectual-Property Claims

To the extent required by applicable law or the Store Terms, Nomadix Apps—not the operator of the Store—is responsible for addressing claims relating to the App, including product-liability claims, consumer-protection claims, claims that the App fails to comply with a legal requirement, and claims that the App infringes a third party's intellectual-property rights.

This section does not expand our liability beyond the limits permitted by law or reduce any responsibility that a Store operator cannot legally exclude.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nomadix Apps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising from use of or inability to use ScanKeeper.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so is unlawful, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot be limited, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer remedies. Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted in your jurisdiction.

You may not use, export, or re-export the App in violation of applicable sanctions, export-control, or trade laws. By using the App, you represent that you are not located in a country or region subject to a comprehensive applicable embargo and are not listed on an applicable government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

You must comply with all laws and third-party terms that apply to your use of the App, including any wireless-data or network agreement.

14. Termination

You may stop using ScanKeeper and uninstall it at any time. You must separately cancel an active subscription through the relevant Store if you want to stop future billing.

This licence terminates automatically if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using and delete the App, except to the extent applicable law or mandatory Store Terms give you continuing rights. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, warranty disclaimers, liability limits, and governing-law provisions—remain in effect.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms prospectively to reflect changes in ScanKeeper, our providers, Store requirements, or law. We will update the date above and publish the revised version at scankeeper.app/terms-of-use/.

If required by law, we will provide additional notice or request agreement before a material change applies. A Store may update its Store Terms independently.

16. Governing Law and Consumer Rights

These Terms are governed by the law that applies under mandatory conflict-of-law, Store, and consumer-protection rules. Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from relying on mandatory rights or bringing a claim in a court or dispute procedure available under the law of the consumer's home jurisdiction.
